This March, ASaP proudly marked its 25th anniversary with a festive celebration at our headquarters. An event with great food, heartfelt speeches, and a special moment to honor two exceptional team members. Marcel Schlüter and Hans-Peter Visser, who received a special 25-year trophy statue in recognition of their vision and invaluable contributions.
One of the founders, Hans-Peter Visser, shared some inspiring words:
“Back in the late 90’s Tim Lenior, MSc Lenior and I, competitors and evening college students, had an idea. Let’s design and serve analytical systems from an end-user perspective. Increase analytical performance, simplify maintenance and lower costs.
March 1st, 2000 we converted our ideas into a plan and started Analytical Solutions and Products (ASaP) from the Shell R&D center in Amsterdam. It was the perfect start for young entrepreneurs. Up till today I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity Shell offered us.
From the early days Marcel Schluter joined us as office manager and up till today he is still the “silent” engine of the company. I’m glad and grateful he is my respected colleague.
After Tim left, Michael van der Zee became our CEO. Under his control, we converted ASaP from a small distributor to well know and market leader for challenging analytical systems. Nowadays we are specialized in any cryogenic and renewable analytical applications.
The acquisition of ASaP, July 1st 2024 by Addtech AB, was essential to take ASaP to the next level. It looks like by the end of this year we will achieve one of my personal and all ASaP initial goals.
Today, exactly 25 years later, I’m extremely proud to be part of a growing team of 42 members, from 18 nationalities from all over the world. The ASaP team is a mix of 71/29 % male/female and an average age of 42.
It is a real pleasure to see that the next generation is getting ASaP ready to grow to the next 25th anniversary of ASaP.
