Celebrating the Christmas Party and CEO Michael van der Zee’s Retirement

This year’s Christmas party at Analytical Solutions and Products (ASaP) was a special one, marking the retirement of our beloved CEO, Michael van der Zee. The evening was not just a celebration of the holiday season but also a heartfelt goodbye to a leader whose influence shaped the company and its employees in many ways.

A friendship that shaped ASaP’s success

Hans-Peter, Michael’s lifelong friend and business partner, shared a touching speech about their unique bond. While some cautioned against mixing friendship and business, Hans-Peter reflected on how their complementary skills and unwavering trust brought the company success. Their partnership, he said, was a testament to the power of mutual understanding and shared vision.

Mutual respect

Another heartfelt speech came from Mike Beer, who joined ASaP around the same time as Michael. Mike candidly spoke about their occasional disagreements over the years. Despite differences in perspective, a strong foundation of mutual respect always prevailed, leading to innovative solutions and many successful projects. Their professional relationship exemplified how collaboration and constructive dialogue can drive results.

Gratitude and a personal touch

Michael made sure to take the time to thank every department and acknowledge the hard work of his management partners. In a personal gesture, he prepared handwritten notes for each employee, sharing his appreciation for their individual contributions. This thoughtful act highlighted Michael’s commitment to building a company culture of respect and gratitude.

This year’s event was orchestrated by our relatively new department, Amusement Specialists and Planners. They outdid themselves, creating a warm and welcoming environment that captured the Christmas spirit. Festive decorations, cozy fire pits, and delicious food were enjoyed by all. The glühwein was a particular favorite, adding to the cheer of the evening.
