GAS Entec LNG custody transfer system for AG&P

In the second quarter of 2022 Analytical Solutions and Products (ASaP) delivered a complete LNG custody transfer system for Adnoc’s Floating Storage Unit (FSU) converted by GAS Entec. Adnoc’s floating LNG storage unit is converted to serving the AG&P LNG import terminal in the Philippines.

Due to the time pressure of the AG&P project, the goods where air freighted to China’s Huarun Dadong yard. The conversion was designed by AG&P’s sister company, GAS Entec.

Another challenge was COVID-19. At that time Shanghai was still in a (partial) lockdown due to COVID-19. Finalizing installation, commissioning, and start-up by ASaP engineers was impossible. However, ASaP’s Shanghai based partner, Eversafe Technology Systems (EST) did an outstanding job in guiding installation, commissioning, and start-up the complete ASaP LNG custody transfer system.

The ASaP GAS Entec LNG custody transfer system for consists of following main items.

  • Two (2) Phazers 1.0. The Phazer is ASaP’s brand name for a combined LNG probe-vaporizer with its patented active sub-cooling. It prevents partial- and pre vaporization of LNG under all circumstances and ensuring the best analytical performance.
  • One (1) common LNG Sampler. For this project an intermittent LNG sampler was selected.
  • One (1) common operation system, AIM. AIM stands for Analytical Information Module; it is a combined package for controlling and monitoring all parameters of the ASaP LNG custody transfer system. It also is a continuous and online performance monitoring tool for the complete LNG custody transfer system. It also monitors performance of all individual parts of the system like Gas Chromatograph(s) (if installed).

It finally is also preventive maintenance software. Since all parameters of the system are monitored, it is easy to set trigger for maintenance indicators. By controlling preventative maintenance, the risk and changes of systems errors are reduced to an absolute minimum.

GAS Entec converted LNG FSU ready for work in Philippines

LNG prime reports that Adnoc’s Floating Storage Unit (FSU) converted by GAS Entec Ish is ready to start serving AG&P’s LNG import terminal in the Philippines, following the completion of conversion works in China.

Hurarun Dadong completed the conversion construction period of 80 days. Adnoc will operate and perform maintenance on the FSU that will serve AG&P’s terminal in the Philippines, Philippines LNG or PHLNG.

The LNG terminal will have an capacity of 5 million tonnes each year.

First LNG terminal in Philippines

AG&P claims this would be the first LNG import terminal in the Philippines. It previously said it had expected to commission the facility in Batangas Bay in July.

The Philippines has several LNG import facilities on the table as the Malampaya gas field becomes less reliable in producing and providing sufficient fuel supply for the country’s existing gas-fired power plants. Philippines LNG will store and dispatch regasified liquefied natural gas to power plant, industrial and commercial customers but also other consumers.

With ASaP’s complete LNG sampling system Adnoc’s Floating Storage Unit (FSU) converted by GAS Entec Ish is ready to start serving AG&P’s LNG import terminal. AG&P expects to commission the LNG terminal at the end of the year.
