LNG Sampler predictive maintenance and operation with AIM
LNG Sampler predictive maintenance is now integrated with ASaP’s proprietary Analysis Information Module. The AIM analyzer maintenance data collection software has been developed in-house by ASaP’s engineering team and can be implemented with any brand or type of analyzer available in any analyzer system, new or retrofit! We have recently integrated AIM in our LNG Sampler solutions creating a system that provides the user with one interface for all information such as LNG Vaporizer performance, LNG Sampler control and analyzer performance.

Together with one of the largest providers of industrial automation, a representative for the Canadian end-user, ASaP, successfully passed a Cybersecurity Factory Acceptance Test (CFAT). The CFAT was used to structurally prove the security and functionality of all IT assets within the ASaP LNG Sampler System. Amongst these critical assets were the PLC, HMI, switch, and maintenance laptops.
Together with a prestigious Chinese EPC, ASaP conducted a successful Trans-Siberian Remote Site Acceptance Test (SAT) for a complete LNG custody transfer system from Amsterdam. In Shanghai, the team of the Chinese system integrator, and the end-user were present. Through industrial grade ATEX certified smart glasses a live video stream was made available for our engineers. This way our engineers were able to instruct the team in Shanghai and provide them from a technical details to ensure a smooth SAT.
AIM is easy-to-use predictive maintenance software for operators, reliability engineers, and maintenance managers, developed by the engineers of Analytical Solutions and Products. Like AMADAS, AIM collects data from your analytical instruments, and centralizes control over your equipment. AIM is developed to be a future proof high-tech direction for maintenance control, though still being a low-cost solution in comparison to other systems.
As ASaP we are extremely proud of our young and next generation engineers who pass their remote FAT with flying colors for a LNG Sampler project for Canada. With one of the major global stakeholders in the LNG industry as end-user, a global recognized EPC contractor and one of the largest global System Integrators, this FAT was a one of a kind.
In an analyzer shelter, different types of analyzers and sample systems are in operation. Because the analyzer performance is also depending on the performance of the sampling system, these parameters will also be acquired. There is a need for analyzer shelter performance monitoring and prediction of fouling of the sample system to prevent breakdown of the analyzers. Improvement of sample conditioning maintenance is necessary to increase uptime of the analyzers.
Integrated system of analysis and sampling for multiple LNG vaporizers, samplers, and analyzers – Using several software systems for monitoring and operating the LNG sampling process, makes operations more complex and operators need to be trained regularly on different systems to stay up to date.
Analyzer performance monitoring – The gas chromatograph maintenance is scheduled using time-based intervals. These intervals are mostly determined based on the standard requirements of the analyzer supplier, the experience of the local team and/or the planning of operations.
Plant operations needs to report emission values on regular base to emission authorities. Validation and calibration results of 4 stacks need to be logged continuously. Therefore, a breakdown of these measurements needs to be prevented. There is a need for easy use and interpretation of the measuring results. In addition, further discussion with authorities needs to be prevented, by presenting results in an accurate and standardized way.
